CURRENT RESEARCH

My research aims to resolve the critical conflicts between economic growth and environmental conservation through the use of advanced ecological modeling techniques, geospatial analytics, and policy-oriented approaches.

Regional resilience based on ecological, economic and social knowledge and innovation in the Ötscher region

My current research involves sustainable transformation in a rural region of Austria, applying socio-economic analysis and ecological strategies to address the local sustainability challenges driven by global climate change. In this project, I will identify different types of socio-ecological systems to reflect various human-environment interactions, point out the spatial vulnerabilities and devise tailored management strategies that aid policymakers in crafting more precise sustainability policies.

Integrating Ecosystem Services into Space Boundary Delimitation for Sustainable National Park Management

This research evaluates the impact of urbanization-driven land use changes on ecosystem services in Ordos, China, projecting to 2030. Using geospatial analysis and the Markov-PLUS model, I analyze how urban expansion affects carbon storage, water purification, and soil retention. By integrating the Water-Energy-Food Nexus into Territorial Spatial Planning, my proposed framework harmonizes economic growth with ecological preservation, delineating conservation zones and optimizing land use for resource efficiency and sustainability.

National Sustainability Assessment and Strategic Response: Tailored Strategies for City-Level Development

This research develops an integrative framework to assess national sustainability by monitoring environmental costs and risks associated with economic growth in China over the past two decades. By analyzing economic and ecological indicators , this framework evaluates the equity of impacts across demographic groups. Findings reveal that rapid economic development, particularly in densely populated areas, leads to significant ecological degradation and unequal distribution of ecological benefits, exacerbating health disparities and social tensions.
